Wanna hear a cool story…I brought my bible today (we are in Amery, WI for Dee’s wake and funeral) which I don’t usually take my bible unless going to church and youth group. I sat down at the hotel to read the bible before the wake and I read Matthew 15:22b. “Have mercy on me, Oh Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” I laughed a little and asked my daughter, Haley if she felt okay. We went to the wake and I didn’t think about it again until we got back a little bit ago. I jumped on Facebook and there was a link to an article about an Iowa priest being selected to learn Exorcism. So that took me back to the verse. I read the rest of the scripture. At the end Matt15:28 it talks about the great faith of the woman and that Jesus healed her daughter. Long story made long…I have been praying multiple times a day to read and learn the bible and to live the way God wants me to. My take is that I am going in the right direction and I leaned on the word in a tough time and that is what I am supported to do. It really has nothing to do with my daughter being possessed. God was really speaking to me!!! GODSOME!!!! Thanks for listening! Love you;)
For awhile now I have wanted to start using “green” products and food in my home but who has time for that??? Not me. But this past year my family had been sicker than usual so my desire to go green skyrocketed. Since Pinterest is one of my best friends I went on a pinning frenzy!!
I have pinned many things in the past with the thought of going back later to read that or print that but it rarely happens. Until today…we’ll actually until about a month ago but that doesn’t sound as good as “today!”
Anyway where was I going with this? Oh yes…I have reorganized my boards on Pinterest and I have been reading and printing!!! We have been trying many of the tips and tricks to help simplify our lives but the best part is that today (it really was today) I made my first green all purpose cleaner!!! The sticky stuff on my cedar chest, made by my grandpa who is no longer with us, threw me over the edge.
The cleaners you buy in the store stink so bad I can’t help but wonder what I am breathing in. You know it is bad when your 14 year old daughter says we should try something else!!
Wow!! Making the cleaner was not only easy but it was cheap AND I had all 3 ingredients on hand and I bet you do too!!All Purpose Cleaner~from Pinterest
1 cup Hydrogen Peroxide
2 cups water
1/2 cup lemon juice
Mix well and put in a spray bottle. You can clean anything even sticky stuff that only a few small boys would know where it came from!! This was a good day.
If you want to see what really cool things I have pinned check out my Pinterest page!!
God bless you all and have good week!
Not only am I changing as I keep plugging away on my journey, but my daughter is also on board. The Dare2Share conference was life changing for her as well.
My 14 year daughter is also participating in the challenge and she posted her selfie on her Facebook page.
Now getting back into “Life” from an extremely passionate, uplifting weekend I was worried about all the drama and stress and struggles that our youth go through on a daily basis. I am pretty sure that I need to Let Go and Let God more often because my daughter is much stronger than I give her credit for at times.
I logged into Facebook this morning to find this as her status…
“When all you see on facebook is drama, it makes you think about deleting it.. I need it for certain reasons though.. stupid drama, glad I let that part of my life go! All thanks to everyone who helped me at Dare2Share!” Said my 14 year old daughter!!
I am such a proud momma right now and I owe it all to Jesus!!!
On your knees! You ask what I am speaking of…
Praying of course. Praying on your knees. Why can’t I just pray as I drive or sit at work or while making supper or while lying in bed? Well of course you can. You can pray any time and anywhere and anyway you choose but according to Daniel, praying on your knees three times a day is cool!!
“Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before” ~Daniel 6:10
I attended a Dare2Share conference in Lincoln, Nebraska this past weekend with our youth group. We took 29 kids and 6 adults. There was a total of 4000 people in which most were youth!! WOW!!!
The theme for the weekend was Living in Reverse. If you want to check out more about Dare2Share and Living in Reverse go to www.dare2share.org.
Our youth were challenged to the Daniel 30 Day Prayer Challenge. This consists of praying three times a day on their knees for 30 days. But when we got back from the conference our youth group leader challenged the kids even further…for them to take a “selfie” of themselves praying once a day and post to Facebook, snapchat, instagram or whatever social media they use.
So I think selfie’s are very silly and I hardly ever take them but I did to help support the kids. NO judging, here you go…
Why am I telling you all about this? Because this conference was life changing for me. Yes ME! I have come back from this conference a new person. This is just one more step on my faith journey! Over the past year I have felt very lead by Christ to lead a young girls group which I was really thinking about doing BUT the good Lord showed me a slightly different path. I will be helping with the youth group in our community! I will be able to reach out to all the youth not just the girls. I have already been approached by a few girls after giving my very short testimony. I can’t explain to you in words what this feels like but I can tell you that the Holy Spirit has been working inside me and now I understand why! Even if I can help 1 person because of the “stuff” I went through in my life IT IS WORTH IT!!!!
I welcome prayers for our youth and all the youth in the world as they struggle each and every day as they long for something, anything to help them along the way. Unfortunately they don’t always choose the right something! We have to help them figure that out.
Have a very blessed day and remember to pray on your knees.
“Then these men went as a group and found Daniel praying and asking God for help.” ~Daniel 6:11
On my new life journey, I am doing an online Bible study along with my cousin. The study is called Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst through Proverbs 31 Ministries. I am on a new journey in my life and included in my journey is growing my relationship with God. He is the center of my life and he is becoming the foundation of my family.
You will often hear me refer to God and how he impacts my life. So with that said, this study is very encouraging and is really making me think about my issues with food. Now this study is focusing on food but many people have issues with things other than food. This study would be beneficial for many issues we face.
I am learning many things about myself and last week we talked about the excuses we have for not being healthy.
Boy is my list long!
I want you all to watch this short video about over ruling our excuses. WE ALL have them but we need to over rule them and just make the right choices.
I know that is easier said than done, but this video is very cool!!! Plus Niki and Melissa crack me up:) So check it out here: http://youtu.be/FvKMXqy7E78.
Please feel free to comment on what your thought are about the video or give any ideas/suggestions you have for being healthy. Let’s all take care of the bodies God gave us. It pleases God when we make choices that prove our commitment to Him!! Have a wonderful rest of the day.
